This week’s question comes from Paula, who strikes a nerve with me by using an entrepreneur-speak cliche and not submitting her question in the form of a question, but it is a great question. The ‘question’ reads:
“I launched a real start-up developing an update to new technology and hired all the rock star friends I could afford to pay. Now I have a hard time justifying paying them. The burn rate is much faster than I could have imagined, and my investors are getting antsy about our progress. I though hiring high-achieving people would help keep things moving, but the opposite is happening. I don’t understand why these people just won’t get their work done.”
